PG5 - Respiratory physiology: interpreting lung function in health and disease

Postgraduate Course

Aims: This is the first course in a three-year postgraduate core curriculum covering the main issues in respiratory physiology. The aims of this first module in the series are:
• to describe the physical principles that regulate breathing;
• to understand how and why lung volumes and flows change in disease at rest and with exercise;
• to present the new ATS/ERS guidelines on lung function. Target audience: Pulmonologists, clinicians, pulmonary fellows, and lung function technicians.
