Patient views on respiratory allergies: raise awareness, release the burden (organised jointly by ELF/EFA)

Aims: Oon completion of this session, participants should be able to:
- describe up-to-date information about respiratory allergies in terms of epidemiology, costs and practices with regard to the management and treatment of patients, as well as support services for patients in 18 European countries;
- describe best practice examples on how to deal with respiratory diseases;
- identify the main issues experienced by patients with respiratory allergies in 18 countries;
- discuss how policy-makers can coordinate to increase political recognition of respiratory allergies as real and serious disease;
- promote national programmes on respiratory allergies;
- discuss how to prioritise the management and control of respiratory allergies;
- promote training in allergy for healthcare professionals to improve accurate and early diagnosis;
- align healthcare and reimbursement policies to support appropriate disease management.
