Aims: An ERS/ISAM society joint session. This session will showcase the latest developments in inhalation medicine and cutting-edge aerosol science. The audience will hear the experiences of patients with respiratory disease and the impact inhalers have on their lives; learn about the efficiency with which new inhaler devices and nebulisers treat asthma and COPD; appreciate the influence of psychological and behavioural factors on patient non-adherence to inhaled therapy; and be aware of the novel developments in aerosol science that utilise the lungs as a portal for systemic drug delivery.
Target audience: Multidisciplinary professionals involved in aerosol science and drug delivery to the lungs, including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, psychologists, scientists, and general respiratory healthcare professionals involved in inhalation medicine.
