Integrated strategies for acute non-invasive ventilation

Symposium
Chairs: L. Heunks (Amsterdam, Netherlands), E. Özyilmaz (Adana, Turkey)
Aims: to highlight new integrated strategies applied during non-invasive ventilation (NIV) that aim to increase the probability of success in severe and complex clinical scenarios, such as a high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) in patients with hypoxemic respiratory failure, analgosedation in poorly tolerant patients, cough assist devices in patients with secretion retention and bronchoscopy when diagnosis and treatment is challenging.
