European Respiratory Society Monograph, Vol. 18. 2001
ISBN: 9781904097198
Many physicians do not hesitate to define rhinitis as a "kleenex disease" though it represents a very common disorder and a severely bothersome one for daily activities. For most pulmonologists, the nose and the upper airway barely belong to their speciality. By contrast, the biology of rhinitis, asthma and airway diseases is strictly related in both the clinical and research setting. Some people love to use the term "United Airway Disease".
In this issue of the monograph, a distinguished and motivated panel of recognized experts provide an outstanding instrument, to the privileged European Respiratory Society (ERS) members and to all the pulmonologists and physicians with some interest in the subject, for the comprehension of the relationships among biology, physiology, and pathology of the united airway.
